Our History

Introduction

The initial idea of creating this website is basically started during my membership at Youht Section of Islamic Association of Afghans in Canada (Ya'al-Tharaat al Hussain A.S). I express my gratitude to Allah (S.W.T.) for giving me the ability to be in the service of Ahlul Bayt (A.S) in any way possible. The teachings of Ahlul Bayt (A.S) will help all of us to understand what Allah (S.W.T) and His Messenger (S) says and what should we do in order to have success and prosperity in this world and here after.

Marja'h Taqleed (Religious Authority) Policy

Follower Islamic Network acknowledges the fact that its visitors are composed of different ethnic backgrounds. Furthermore, Follower Network acknowledges that, along with the rest of those who adhere to the Thaqalayn (Qur'an and Ahlul-Bayt), its visitors also have different Marja'h Taqleed. Thus, Follower Network would like to officially clarify its position with regards to this matter:

Follower Network is not affiliated to a particular Marja'ah Taqleed, rather Follower Network acknowledges all of the Religious Authorities, both the alive (may Allah elevate their stations) and the dead (may Allah bless their souls).

The rationale behind this is that the matter of Taqleed and Ijtihad is preceded by the adherance to the Thaqalayn (Qur’an and Ahlul-Bayt). Meaning that one first adheres to the Thaqalayn, then later comes the matter of Ijtihaad and whom one makes Taqleed of. Therefore, regardless of whom one emulates, he/she is still bound by the Book of Allah and the teachings of the Holy Members of the Prophet's House (Ahlul-Bayt). This adherence to the Qur'an and Ahlul-Bayt(AS) is the sole focus of this Network.

It is not in the scope of Follower Network to elevate the status any Religious Authority (Marja'h Taqleed), nor to lower the status of any of them. Each visitor is entitled to having his or her choice of being respected. Hence, any derogatory statements directed towards any individual deemed as Marja'h Taqleed (by even one of Follower Network's visitors) will not be tolerated. "

Furthermore, it should be noted that the web masters of Follower Network as well as the Administration also individually emulate a Marja'ah Taqleed. But, that fact should not, and will not interfere in any decisions made. The philosophy of Follower Network will be maintained. Anything otherwise will not be tolerated by these individuals, just as any other member. Note: In the scope that we work in, we doubt that a jurisprudence (fiqh) issue will come up that has different ruling according to different marja'h, but in the event that one does, we will resort to ihtiyat (the more precautionary route).
